I made this last night for our very small Election Night get together. It was good enough that I've been asked to post the recipe. To save space, I've posted it as a comment, and provided the title link as well.
Side note: The Ciroc Obama was good, but as Brook says, I like any drinks that are blue. :)

***Note: when I made this, I used more of some things, and had enough for 6 adults and 2 kids, I'm putting my variation in caps/parenthesis behind ingredients)
Ingredients
* 1 large onion, chopped
* 1 green pepper, chopped
* 3 garlic cloves, chopped (I USED ABOUT 6-7)
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1 lb ground turkey or beef (I USED 2 POUNDS GROUND BEEF)
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (I DOUBLED ALL SPICES INCLUDING VINEGAR)
* 1/4 teaspoon ground oregano
* 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
* 1/4 teaspoon ground basil
* 1 tablespoon chili powder
* 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
* tomato, several depending on size, chopped (I USED 3 REG. SIZED CANS OF DICED TOMATOES AND 1 LARGE CAN OF WHOLE TOMATOES, CHOPPED, WITH LIQUID)
* 1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans (I USED 3 CANS)
Directions
1. Saute onions, green pepper and garlic in olive oil until soft.
2. Add ground meat and brown.
3. Combine spices together into a mixture, then add to ground meat.
4. Add red wine vinegar.
5. Add tomatoes and let simmer, until tomatoes cook down.
6. Add kidney beans and cook for a few more minutes.
7. Serve over white or brown rice. Garnish with grated cheddar cheese, onions and sour cream.
(EVERYONE LOVED THE RICE)
